The Short Version

Hyper-specialisation is efficient for clearly organ-bound disease and poorly suited to symptoms that cross boundaries. A nerve that supplies rectal, perineal, and genital territory has no natural specialty home. Neither does a symptom driven by amplified central signalling rather than by local tissue damage.

Each page below covers one condition: the mechanism, what a proper evaluation includes, what the evidence supports, and the specific findings that mean you should be seen urgently rather than routinely.

Most people arrive at a page like this after several appointments that each ended reasonably and cumulatively produced nothing. Every clinician along the way examined their own territory competently. Nobody was assigned the space between territories.

That gap is where a meaningful number of these conditions live. It is also why the same person often appears in three of the categories below at once — not through coincidence, and not because everything is connected to everything, but because a small number of specific mechanisms genuinely do produce symptoms across conventional specialty lines.
